Iconic restaurant, The Bay House, at Tauranga Bay is now open for summer!
The Bay House opened over Labour weekend and is currently offering lunches from Thursday to Sunday 11.30am to 4pm. They plan to start offering evening meals from around the 24th of November. Bookings are essential.
Yesterday I headed over to The Bay House for lunch to see what all the fuss was about.
We arrived at midday and the restaurant was already nearly full. Fortunately my friend had the foresight to reserve in advance and we were treated to a table overlooking the stunning Tauranga Bay. We shared the homemade bread and dip to start, and for the main I had the Calamari salad with sesame & ginger dressing, with Japanese seaweed, miso mayo & popcorn salt. Yum!
On a sunny day, patrons can enjoy the outside seating areas and stunning waterfront views. But even on an overcast day, The Bay House is a hidden treasure at Cape Foulwind, with beautiful food and superb service.
